Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu 2 Day Tour – Sacred Valley Machu Picchu Tour

Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu 2 Day Tour popularly known as Sacred Valley Machu Picchu Tour, will give you a detailed insight into the culture of Incas. You will also get an overview of the history.

Both Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu played a significant role during the Inca civilization. As farming was the prime source of income, the Incas considered the valley sacred due to its extremely fertile land.

In fact sites like Moray were used as an agricultural laboratory. The Incas built distinct circular terraces with different levels which allowed them to experiment with the best weather condition needed to grow a crop.

The farming terraces of Moray, which barely resembles the Roman Amphitheatre, have different temperatures at each level. Legends say that there is a difference of 20 degrees celsius between the top and the bottom level.

Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu 2 Day Tour begins with a full-day Sacred Valley tour with our local English-speaking tour guide. You will be visiting some of the prominent archaeological sites.

On this tour, you will get an introduction to the Inca civilization. After the full-day tour, you will be taking a train to Aguas Calientes town.

The second day offers a full-day tour of Machu Picchu citadel. After a guided tour, you will be taking a train back to Ollantaytambo town and onward to your hotel in Cusco city.

At 0800 AM, we will be picking you up from your hotel in Cusco. Then in our private transport, we will be driving you to Pisac. It is a one-hour drive from Cusco. The route offers stunning views of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.  Pisac is home to the traditional flea market where local craftsmen and farmers gather every weekend to sell their products.  The village is also home to a beautiful and massive Inca complex perched up the hill. The ruins are massive and are second to Machu Picchu in the area.  We will give you a guided tour of the complex which will give you a detailed insight into the life and culture of Incas.  After the tour, we will be stopping at the market by the main square where you will have some free time to walk around and shop some souvenirs.    We will then drive you to Urubamba. Here we will be stopping at a local restaurant for a traditional buffet lunch.  After lunch, we will be driving you to Ollantaytambo. Here we will be visiting the archaeological complex. Our local expert will be giving you a detailed tour and will be giving you an extensive insight into the Incan traditions.  Later in the evening, we will be boarding the train from Ollantaytambo train station to Aguas Calientes. We will be picking you up from your hotel early in the morning and embark on a 25 minutes bus ride up the hill to Machu Picchu citadel. The tour guide will be assisting you in crossing the security control and walking into the citadel.  As you enter, you will get a glimpse of the golden rays of the sun shimmering on the walls of this ancient Inca city. We will give you a detailed tour of the prime areas of the citadel for two hours. We will be visiting the remains of the Inca temple, a religious center, and more.  After visiting Machu Picchu citadel, you will have some free time. If you have booked to climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu mountain, our guide will be directing you to the respective entrance.  Alternatively, you can hike to Sun Gate.
